Yet another pretty face turns John McCain’s head:
· The three most important picks in his life – both of his wives and now his presidential running mate – all were beauty queens. Please remind me, what was he looking for?
· In trying to get enough distance between himself and Bush, he had to go all the way to Alaska.
· Who says she doesn’t have foreign policy experience. Alaska is right next to Russia, isn’t it?
· Experience? Hey, she was mayor of a town of less than 10,000 souls – and that doesn’t include the moose — and has been governor of a state of just over 500,000 for less than two years.
· She might be a great mom — a hockey mom at that! — off to a good start as a novice governor and was a super PTA prez, but is this really who should be just a heartbeat away from taking over from the oldest man ever elected president of the United States of America should he fold?
· How has being titular head of Alaska’s National Guard for 20 months prepared and qualified her to be commander in chief of the entire U.S. military that is engaged in two wars and is stretched thinner than a high-pitched violin string should she need to take over?
· Is this what he means when he challenges Obama’s judgment?
· It says a lot about his insecurity in his manhood – can’t bear to share the spotlight with another man. A mother of five — the youngest of whom is five months old — sure won’t do that.
· He’s counting on the fact that Obama, Biden and the media (in one GOPer’s words) “won’t be able to beat up on her too much” because she’s a girl — a purty one at that.
· This is an obvious grab for disaffected Hillary supporters, but other than chromosome count, just how does she in any way resemble Hillary or anything about Hillary that the PUMAs admire or want in the White House? Instead of falling for such a blatant and clumsy ploy, all women everywhere should see this for what it is, an insult. Picking a woman, any woman, just because she’s a woman, thinking that’s all he needs to do to get women’s vote denigrates and demeans all women’s intelligence.
· He is easily threatened by his closest also-ran in the primaries.
· He must think cute counts, but does the Palin kid standing next to mom and waving from the stage today really measure up to two Obamas?
· He’s the emperor apparent – the next one wearing no clothes – hiding behind her skirts in attempt to cover up his misogyny.
· Looks like he’s thought this through just about as well as his Bushite mentor did the invasion of Iraq: ‘Shock and Awe’. Piece of cake. Mission Accomplished. Five years (and counting), nearly $1 trillion dollars (and counting) and more than 6,000 U.S. military troops (and counting) dead, an unknown number of American contractor and untold Iraqi civilian deaths (and counting) later …
